She was incredibly gentle with my hair and paid close attention to every detail. I got small, lightweight box braids, and they turned out absolutely beautiful! The braids are lightweight, my parts are neat and clean, and she made sure there was no unnecessary tension, which I truly appreciated. She genuinely cares about the health of your hair, and it shows in the quality of her work.

I had such a beautiful experience with Bintu. She was incredibly intricate and intentional with my hair from start to finish. I gave her three sample pictures and explained that I wear a hard hat for work but still wanted a style versatile enough to put up comfortably — and she customized everything perfectly to fit me. The length, sizing, parts, and intricate design all felt personalized instead of copy-and-paste.

The atmosphere was also really comforting. The conversation flowed naturally, but it was also one of those spaces where you could comfortably dissociate, relax, and just enjoy being cared for. They even offered me some of their lunch, which was such a genuine touch. We connected on so many levels and from different walks of life.

I truly enjoyed my experience at Bintu African Hair Braiding Salon. When I called her on a Sunday, I was immediately taken aback by her pleased demeanor and how nice she was. I really liked the fact that her prices were upfront and reasonable, which is rare. You knew exactly the cost of the service. When I got to her shop, I never knew a place like this existed. I like the intimate setting of her salon and the personalized experience was a super highlight of just being there. She had two other employees there that really nice. One more thing, she did not braid too tight. I had no issues with feeling tender headed- which I was shocked about. I definitely will go to her from now on. I really just enjoyed my time there and I need to let everyone know to go to her. Plus I love how my hair turned out: 4 hours did not seem long at all.
